A two-time Audie Finalist, multiple Earphones Winner & IPPY Gold Medalist, Gail Shalan is a storyteller based in NYC. She holds an MFA in Acting from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has worked in both the U.S. & U.K. in theatre, film, and voice over.
Her narration has garnered praise from The School Library Journal, Library Journal, Vulture Magazine, BookRiot, Audiofile Magazine, has been noted on both Apple Books & New York Times Must-Listens, and Audiofile's 2023, 2024 Voices to Know and Best Audiobooks of 2023 lists.
When not in the booth, she's a puppeteer, writer, and half of the international folk duo, The Strange Bedfellows. She loves travel, social psychology, art history, and her puppy, Edith.
She’s passionate about stories that center generational healing and mental health, that navigate the sticky spaces between childhood and adulthood, and stories that ask who am “I”? Who are “we”? And what dwells in the space between us, what dwells in the space within us?
