Redman has been an Audiobook Narrator for the past 7 years, both in studios and from her own studio at home. She has narrated 35 Audiobooks during that time across a range of genres, including Historical Fiction, Cosy Mystery, Thriller and several non-fiction titles. In 2023 she won an Audiofile Earphones award for her narration of ‘Deadline’, a thriller written by Geoff Major and she is the favourite narrator of several authors who keep coming back to her to narrate their next book. These include Tony Riches, Mark Eccleston, Geoff Major and Suzanne Winterley. Ruth is an experienced actor who works across genres including Theatre, Film and Television in addition to her narration work and her experience and training at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School support her narration work. She is highly directable and also happy self-directing. She has an aptitude for accents and is comfortable in many different dialects aside from her own natural RP. Before becoming an actor and narrator she was a teacher of English literature and Drama.
